Blind and Visually Impaired Sailing

At Tamworth Sailing club, we believe sailing should be accessible to everyone. Our blind and visually impaired sailing sessions are designed to empower individuals through hands-on experience, guided instruction, and a strong sense of community.

What to Expect

• Safe, Calm Waters: Our small inland lake offers a controlled environment—perfect for learning and confidence-building.
• Trained Instructors: Our team includes experienced sailors trained in inclusive communication and safety protocols.
• Tactile & Verbal Guidance: We use clear verbal instructions, tactile diagrams, and adapted equipment to make sailing intuitive and enjoyable.
• Buddy System: Sailors are paired with sighted volunteers or instructors to ensure safety and build trust.
